Starting out as a casting associate, Pixie quickly rose through the ranks, becoming involved with projects like “Minority Report” for Steven Spielberg, “Tuck Everlasting” for Disney, and “America’s Most Wanted” for Fox Television. After a few years of working in the industry, Pixie successfully opened her own casting agency, and has been busily casting everything from print campaigns, music videos, to an Oscar qualifier.
Pixie is an active member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Local #399 Casting Directors Union, Entertainment Industries Council (PRISM AWARDS) and Commercial Casting Directors Association. She has also served on the Board of Directors for the Association of Women in Radio and Television, bringing her unique vision and presence to the group.
In her personal life, and through her non-profit venture “Casting Hope,” she is fiercely dedicated to raising funds and awareness for various charities – a quality trait Pixie’s parents instilled in her as a child. You can learn more about Casting Hope (http://castinghope.net/) by downloading the periodic podcast, which she co-host’s with radio personality Gary Spears (Formerly of KIIS-FM/K-BIG); it is a wonderful blend of entertainment, humanitarian, and community issues.
Recently, Pixie has worked on the stage production of “Tommy,” the follow up to her extremely successful collaboration of “Chess,” with Brian Purcell for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids; as well as various TV specials, commercials and multiple short films (including those for the Jewish Impact Film Fellowship).
Currently, Pixie is working with veteran TV director Richard L. Bare, on a “newly, re-imagined” pilot of successful 70’s sitcom “Green Acres” (Para-Scope Productions). Principle casting is also well underway for the upcoming feature film, “The City of Gardens,” featuring John Robinson (Elephant, Transformers, Lord’s of Dogstown), directed by, Camilo Vila (Resurrection Blvd). Filming will take place in Lima, Peru.
